Here at Cain9 Design, we are fully qualified to offer the following grooming courses

  • Hand Stripping

  • Introduction to Dog Grooming

  • Intermediate Certificate in Dog Grooming

  • Advanced Certificate in Dog Grooming

The Workshops

  • Hand stripping involves pulling out the dead outer coat of wired-haired or “rough-coated” breeds by hand, rather than cutting the hair with clippers. This allows a new wire coat to grow in. It does not hurt the dog as wire hair is not attached like our own hair or like breeds with other types of coats. Most groomers do not offer this service, since it is time-consuming and very labour intensive. This course will give you hands on skill practice of hand stripping, perfect for an owner wishing to hand strip their own dog correctly or a student looking to gain a strong basis of the skills needed to hand strip dogs as part of a career in dog grooming.

  • 1 dog per day - can be fast tracked to 2.5 days (2 dogs)) This course is the first step in learning all about dog grooming and trying your hand at some of the less complex styles. "Absolutely loved my time with Jasmine doing my dog grooming course. I learnt so much in the short time I was there completing the intense intermediate and handstripping course. I would highly recommend Jasmine she made me feel very welcome and at ease with the animals. I was given a wide variety of dogs to groom, this enabled me to learn lots of different techniques for the different breeds. I started the course not knowing anything but left feeling confident in doing dogs by myself. I now have my own dog grooming business and love it. It's really busy and I run it along side a kennels. I try just to groom 3 days a week, but do bath and blow drys most days when dogs leave the kennels"
